In December 2005 Melissa and I teamed up with some of our Mexican friends and did New Years in Seattle, Washington, USA. At one point we rented a van and did a road trip to Vancouver, BC, Canada, and wound up on a ferry for Vancouver Island. We had heard that Victoria was a slice of England in Canada, and had to see for ourselves. In addition to the two pubs we visited, we also had an excellent high tea at a marvelous tea room on the north side of Victoria, off the beaten path.
