A very nice pub blog from two pub & ale afficionados in northern England.

Melissa and I did a seven day, totally unplanned trip to England in December 2003*. I didn't have a good camera at the time, or there would probably be more entries here.

*One afternoon at about 3pm we said "Let's grab our passports and go somewhere." By 5pm we had bought two roundtrip tickets to London. We were flying by 8:45pm that night. The next thing we knew we landed at Heathrow with nothing but one small backpack each, two debit cards, no cash, no hotel reservations. We hit the ATM, caught an evening bus to Oxford, crashed in a fourteen bed dorm at a backpackers hostel, met some nice folks and had a great time over the next seven days. We saw Oxford, Woodstock, the historic port and ships at Portsmouth, and finally London. I recall hitting about seven pubs -- maybe three in Oxford, three or four in London.
