The Village Pub is a nice, modern waterfront pub. I grew up in Naples in the seventies and eighties, and I don't much care for the town. Like a lot of south Florida, it is overrun with retirees, or "cottontops" as one friend of mine put it. So while the pubs there are new, the clientelle ain't so youthful (one very noteable exception, at least on weekend evenings, being Paddy Murphy's pub on 5th Ave; no doubt the youngest, coolest pub on the strip. http://www.paddymurphys.com/).

Still, when I'm in town visiting dear mom, I can hang with her and see it through her eyes. She loved this pub with its guitarist/humorist Andy Walhberg. (above)). He is an excellent guitarist who plays a rare "harp/guitar" -- the upper strings are the bass strings from a harp. His brand of humor is perfect for this town, and made for a fun Naples pub visit.

They have seventeen bottled beers, and six on draught, including Guiness of course. Not too shabby. My favorite was this Julius Echter Hefe Weiss. I was happy to see Stella also. Their pub grub is good; I loved their crab cake, and their tuna melt.

There is also outside seating with a nice view of the water, not pictured. Sorry!
