Great Pictures! What an awesome experiance it must have
been. I interviewed Colonel James Helms Kasler for my sophomore class
project at Bradley Boubonnais Community High School. He flew the F-86
and the F-100 Sabre Jet.Any chance I could get a ride in one of these
planes? It would definatley give me a good, well rounded report. |

Just ran across this page on T- Birds. I was at Williams
AFB Chandler Az. from June 1952 till Nov. 1955. I was a mechanic in
the 3525th Maint. Sqd. post dock/ test flight. I sure did like the
old T-Bird she had some class I thought. We have the Pima Air Museum
here in Tucson and I think we have 3 vairations of the bird on display
here. Thanks for the look at the pictures, |

I wasn't in the 336th FIS, but learned a lot about the
squadron's Korean era history when I wrote a book about the F-86 Sabre
in the 1990s. It was my good fortune to be in the Air Force (in Korea)
when young and to write about the Air Force later in life, in books,
articles, and a newspaper column in Air Force Times. I had a back-seat
F-15E Strike Eagle flight with the 4th Wing in 1993. I'm interested
in every aspect of Air Force operations during the Korean War. My
latest book is "AIR FORCE ONE," an insider look at President
Bush's aircraft and the history of presidential air travel. |

Thanks to all you good folks for stopping by and leaving
all these good comments. I'm very busy these days, and don't have
time to enhance the site lately. But I do check in and keep it running.
Enjoy! - John, webmaster |

I spent 7 months at the Suwon Bomb & Gunnery Range.
Our call sign was "Turkey Trot". The photo of the F-84 skip
bombing brought back memories as it showed the 4 10x10 targets and
the large rock for heavy bombing out in the Yellow Sea. JerrY |

Great web site! I am a long time fan of the 4thFG,FIW,TFW,FW.
I am a casual friend of now retired 4th Historian... Fred Claypoole.
I sure would like to find some of the following patches from Korean
era: 4th FIW, 334th FIS, 335th FIS, and of course 336th FIS! Do any
of you guys have two or more that you are willing to part with one?
Or, could I get a scan of any that you would not part with? Thanks
a lot for any consideration. If you have any input or questios, please
contact me by e-mail. Thanks, Jack Hunt |

This was my first assignment out of Basic. I was at
K-14 from Aug 52-Jul 53. Franandez, Jabara, Low, King, J. Johnson
all the Aces were there then. What an experience for a young 18 year
old. I worked the flight line and remember when Joe MaConnel (from)
K-13 (51st TFW) buzzed us when he got his 15th Mig. Also being visited
by Bed-Check Charley on some cold nights. Hello to my old buds, E.
Hadad, Bob Hall, and all of the 4th Air Base Group. I wouldn,t trade
that experience for anything. I liked it so much I made a 23 year
career out of the AF. K-14 stunk, the chow was bad and it was anything
but a nice place to visit. But looking back I wouldn't trade that
time for anything. Write me if you know me. Peace H.W. Dix |
