The $20 Yard Sale Radio Cabinet. Yup, I got the cabinet -- one of them thar corner-contoured computer cabinets -- used, for $20 at a yard sale. I installed an extra shelf (the one the HF rig sits on), heavy-duty casters to facilitate mobility, reinforced it a bit, intstalled some interior lighting, a custom sheet metal switch panel (far left, used to house aux power switches and hold my HT), and curtains for the storage area below (containing aux battery, and parts drawers). The chair was a parting gift from a relocating employer who thought the chair's broken back doomed the chair's usefulness. Antenna cables run out the back through the window. With the doors closed, it passes as an inconspicuous cabinet. With the doors open it's a miniature Ham Geek universe! Click here for a closer view of the gadgets
