The mighty USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, (CVN 68) as photographed by me, around 1975 or 1976, off the coast of Miami, Florida. She was a new ship then. Surrounding the Nimitz were more pleasure boats than I could easily count. I recall a fair quantity of contraband (cans of beer) were being thrown up to the sailors by men and women in the boats below. Of course, being an 11 year old boy full of curiosity (and equipped with a camera) I tried to photograph the topless girls in the boats. |

But, as evidenced by this photo, my cheap 110 instamatic camera wasn't up to the task, and the waves made shooting a bit challenging, and the lighting was bad. (sheez... I sound like a UFO hunter trying to excuse my bad documentation attempt! You'd think I was trying to photograph Bigfoot.) The girl at the left stole the show when she stood on the bow of her friend's boat and opened her robe, revealing nothing -- and everything-- beneath. |
