"At 14:30 we were all in the cockpits and ready to go, lacking only an ATC clearance. We sat there for 2 1/2 hours before the T-bird that was ahead of us got cleared out, and then we got our clearance. We had one APU, and so we had to start up one at a time. When we finally all got started and ready to go, I found that I still didn't have a radio compass and also I didn't have an attitude gyro. I called Dave and told him that I was going to abort, and he said that he didn't have a radio compass either. So we shut down and went back in." Lt. Wm.
