USAF F-100D Super Sabre number 56-3065 flying near Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico, 1957. (dads notes below suggest this was one of the F-100s assigned him during his USAF career, although I don't think that is him at the controls in this photo). I think he merely took this photo.

The roman numeral sequence suggests a naming practice he used for his birds: Red Bug I, II, III, IV... etc. His sister tells me that Red Bug I was likely a childhood car toy, an electric car he wated or had. The only jet that had "Red Bug" painted on it were his two Korean era F-86F models.

Notes in dad's handwriting seeming to indicate his assigned jets during his USAF carreer. The note in the upper right corner indicate that F-86F number 52-4553 caught fire in flight, the pilot ejected safely but the plane was lost at sea. Another note he wrote on a slide adds that 553 was lost while returning from Tsuiki air base (Japan).
